Beginning her cello studies at age 7, Natalie Keppel, a Junior at University of Nevada Reno, grew up immersed in music. Her local community of Quincy, California provided a diverse musical beginning; from folk, to jazz, and classical influence, she engaged in numerous musical genres with her local quartet, orchestra, and family band, with whom she recorded five albums.
Expanding in her studies, she began private lessons and joined the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Touring Southern California, the orchestra participated in the Los Angeles Orchestra Festival at Walt Disney Concert Hall in the summer of 2011. In 2013, she traveled with the orchestra in their international tour of the Pacific Northwest, playing in halls in Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, Canada.
Furthering her ensemble studies, she played with the California All State Symphony and attended the Montecito International Music Festival, the Idyllwild Symphony Music Camp, University of the Pacific Music Camp, and the Sequoia Chamber Festival Camp. In the summer of 2015, she toured Germany with the Weimar Bach Academy, conducted by J.S. Bach expert, Helmuth Rilling.
While classically trained, Natalie enjoys multiple genres and has experience playing in Scottish groups, jazz bands, folk and sacred bands and film music.
